Saturday Shout Out- Complementary Therapies.

Each week we complete a Saturday Shout Out, to celebrate the work our students are doing.  We want to support our students, past and present.  The Saturday Shout Out gives us this platform to share and promote our students in their businesses.

Today’s Saturday Shout out is focusing on Complementary Therapies.

We have so many students that have made a successful career and started their own businesses on completion of this course that we will be sharing different student successes over the next few weeks.

Today though we will kick off with Katie Welsford and Marisa Griffiths.

These two amazing ladies both live on the Kent Coast. They are living the dream with sea views, beach walks, and running their own business with flexible hours to suit them.

Marisa’s Reflexology

Marisa spent many years working in offices and with the usual stresses and strains of business, budgets cuts and the constant threat of redundancy hanging over her. Marisa decided to give up her unfulfilling job and retrain as a Reflexologist.

Marisa started her life-changing journey by enrolling with us onto her level VTCT level3 Diploma in Reflexology.

Marisa’s love of learning and bubbly personality made teaching her a joy. On completion of her course, Marisa registered as self-employed, and Marisa’s Reflexology was born.

Marisa now works as a mobile therapist and has built herself a successful business. As part of her mobile work, Marisa visits clients in care homes and local hospices. Marisa also works with the Harmony Trust, which offers NHS approved Complementary Therapies to those with life-threatening illnesses.

Marissa has continued her training with us and now offers a wide range of complementary therapies. Her mission statement is “my mission is to achieve balance in my life and to help others achieve it in theirs.”

Way to go Marisa!

Katie Welsford Complementary Therapist and mum of two young children.

When Katie decided to enrol on our VTCT level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies course, she was still working her day job as a school teacher.

Katie studied weekends and during school holidays. This course covered body massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.

On completion of this course, Katie was able to gradually build her complementary therapy practice, Katie Welsford Complementary Therapist,  evenings and weekends until she reached the point where she was busy enough to be able to leave her job as a teacher and concentrate on her home-based practice.

Katie has continued adding to her qualifications to enable her to expand her practice to include pregnancy massage, hand reflexology, face reflexology, oncology massage is currently training with us in hot stone massage.

In addition to her beautiful seaside treatment room, Katie also works on retreats, in care homes and hospices.

These two women have not just dramatically changed their own lives but are empowering and enhancing the lives of others in their communities too.

Congratulations to you both, it was an incredible pleasure to part of this journey with you.
